Originally a coach-building firm who built the first design by Ferdinand Porsche the Lohner-Porsche electric car, the Viennese firm of Lohner emerged after 1950 as the makers of a range of scooters and mopeds during the eight years of the firm’s short existence. Lohner machines are rare, none more so than the idiosyncratic ‘Sissy’ scooter powered by a 49cc Ilo fan-cooled two-stroke. The museum’s example has been on display for many years amid a collection of the make. In very good condition with all of its hard-to-find features intact, the ‘Sissy’ will need a check-over following storage. After that, it should provoke attention at any rally.
