Austria’s Halleiner Motorenwerk A.G. was a major engine manufacturer, set up in 1946. As well as supplying many thousands of engines and clip-on units to other makers, the company also made and sold its own range of mopeds, mo-kicks and scooters. Amongst these were very popular light scooters, fore-runners of the modern city versions, one of which, designed to appeal to trendy females, was the ‘Conny’, named after the popular pop singer of the country, Conny Froeboss. Offered here is a rare ‘special edition’, the museum’s ‘Conny’ has been on display for over 25 years, thus remaining in comparatively un-worn, if rather faded condition. Complete and original, ‘Conny’ will respond well to a little loving care.
