Beschreibung:

The long running MSS received a significant face-lift in 1948 with a new engine bored out to 86mm and the stroke shortened also to 86mm. The all-alloy top end housed hairpin valve springs and a new gearbox was fitted to take care of the additional power developed by the new engine. The new model had a top speed of around 85mph. For the 1954 and 1955 seasons it was produced alongside the MAC and from 1956 onwards these two models were joined in the range by the Viper and Venom. This example was first registered in January 1956 and in 1973 was acquired by the celebrated Austin Munks who sold it later that year for £110. The bike appears to be to original specification in all major respects and is equipped with Miller lighting, a Smiths 0-85mph speedometer and fishtail exhaust. It comes with an old style green log book and a Swansea V5 registration document together with the Austin Munks invoice from 1973.
