Puch, which is actually an abbreviation of Steyr Daimler Puch, undertook occasional joint ventures with other companies, one of which was a compatible arrangement with the Italian firm of Ganna, based in Varese, who’d been in business since the early 1920s. Using JAP or Blackburne engines of between 175 and 500cc the range was topped in 1936 with Ganna’s own ohc half litre single, although after WWII they reverted exclusively to 2-strokes from Minarelli, Sachs etc. Although not widely known outside Italy the Ganna was renowned for its sporting overtones, and a high standard of finish. Purchased by the Museum in 2005 Prof Ehn reports the beautifully styled original condition [bright red] 150cc Ganna – note scissor system rear suspension – was last used for a 2007 Oldtimer event. Offered with a selection of Italian/Austrian Registration documents.
