Beschreibung:

Although BSA had experimented with powered two-wheelers in the latter years of the 19th Century and then again in 1905, it was not until 1910 that the company launched its first series-production motorcycle in the form of a 499cc (3.5hp) sidevalve single. Well engineered and equally well made, this first BSA proved an enormous success and for 1914 was joined by a 557cc (4.25hp) long-stroke version. Intended for sidecar duty, the Model H incorporated a stronger frame and forks, three-speed gearbox and fully enclosed all-chain drive. Purchased as a 'basket case' in 1989, this Model H underwent a complete 'last nut and bolt' rebuild, including repair of the crankcases, and was re-registered in 1991. The machine was ridden in VMCC events (including the Banbury Run) until five years ago, since when it has been kept in dry storage and run periodically. Since restoration, the vendor has obtained a spare engine bottom half (crankcases, flywheel assembly, con-rod and cams) which is included in the sale. Finished in BSA green with black cycle parts, the machine is presented in good condition and offered with dating certificate and Swansea V5.
