Comprising 18 individual Japanese woodblock prints by various artists including an example by Kawase Hasui (1883-1957) depicting a figure caught in a rainstorm, carrying an umbrella outside a palace wall, sheet size 15 inches x 10.25 inches (38 x 26 cm), laid down on cardboard. Together with examples by Utagawa Hiroshige (Japanese, 1797-1858) including two mountain landscapes from the series "36 Views of Mt. Fuji," each sheet measuring approximately 6.75 inches x 9.75 inches (17 x 24.5 cm), "The Entrance of the Sanno Festival Procession to Kojimachi," sheet size 14.25 inches x 9.6 inches (36 x 24.6 cm), "Sudden Shower over Shin-Ōhashi bridge and Atake", sheet size 14.75 inches x 10.4 inches (37.5 x 26.3 cm), "Oji Fox-Fire," sheet size 14.4 inches x 9.6 inches (36.2 x 24.7 cm), and "Sunshower at Nihonbashi," sheet size 9.75 inches x 15 inches (24.6 x 38 cm). Together with a view of Mt Fuji and an agricultural scene by Hokusai Katsushika (1760 - 1849), each sheet approximately 14.5 inches x 10 inches (37 x 25.5 cm), along with 10 other prints as shown, by various artists depicting various subject matter including a large and vibrant train station scene, sheet size 13.8 inches x 28.25 inches (35 x 72 cm), a palace scene, various landscape and village scenes (one laid down on heavy paper), and a triptych of a ships battling at sea. Unless otherwise noted, each print loose (not laid) and unframed.
