A pleasant near-Gem example swooning with warm copper luster and some green and blue patina over portions of the obverse. A great deal of discussion surrounds an Indian cent's strike. This marvelous 1875 has excellent detail with no sign of weakness on the feathers or the wreath and shield, areas where the dies sometimes failed to impart a strong impression, even on the otherwise carefully made proofs. It is now estimated between 1,000-1,200 proofs were minted. (PCGS 2313)
