V. Ferrini 14kt Gold and Hardstone Pendant Necklace, the hardstone pendant measuring approx. 2 1/8 x 1 3/8 in., suspended from hammered links, total wt. 62.4 dwt, lg. 30 in., signed. Note: From the estate of Lois Beurman Torf (1926-2020),an important Boston collector of contemporary prints. Her collection was admired by curators worldwide, and her generosity significantly enhanced the collections of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Matthew Teitelbaum, the director of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston described her ability to look at art and quickly determine what was important: "She did that out of knowledge, she did that out of understanding, she did that out of intuition." Torf's choices in jewelry reflect that same keen aesthetic judgment and appreciation for quality and craftsmanship.
