Samuel Batchelder autograph letter to Nathan Hale, Amherst, April 26, 1808, regarding Batchelder's leisure activities described as a "beggarly amount of idle movements" noting that he works about three hours a day and devotes the rest to the "occupation of laziness," in addition he describes celebrations happening in the streets including the indiscriminate firing of guns in the streets at the news of an apparent easing of tension with England and the celebrations of drunk Masons singing "Yankee Doodle" and power of the United States; Samuel Batchelder autograph letter to Nathan Hale, New Ipswich, December 26, 1808 regarding recent business, and political affairs; seven Nathan Hale ALSs to Samuel Batchelder, 1809-1814 regarding business, personal and political affairs; and thirteen documents listing cloth and yarn from Samuel Batchelder spanning 1818-1827, retailed through merchants including Lyman Tiffany of Boston, Gilman Prichard & Co., and Alfred Duch & Co.
