Geneva, Illinois," ht. 18 3/4, dia. 19 3/4 in. Note: Hoffmann was the son of Joseph Hoffman, co-founder of the Wiener Werkstatte in Austria. He immigrated to the United States in 1925 and soon thereafter opened a where he and his wife, Pola, designed objects and furniture for the American Pewter Company. They along with KEM Weber were instrumental in conceiving the 1931 Modern Design Exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum. In 1934, Hoffmann became a designer for the Howell Furniture Company where he worked until 1942.
