McKinley, William (1843-1901),Roosevelt, Theodore (1858-1919) and Wilson, Woodrow (1856-1924) Typed Letters Signed Before They Were President. Single-page letter, Columbus, Ohio, 1 December 1893, on State of Ohio Executive Department letterhead, to J. Sloat Fassett inviting him to stop by the McKinley residence, Grane's watermarked paper, 10 3/4 x 8 in.; single-page letter, New York, New York, 21 February 1917, on Metropolitan letterhead, to Lawrence Baker in which Roosevelt expresses his thanks, (some staining, two-hole punch on top edge, minor chipping along right-hand side),11 x 8 1/2 in.; single-page letter, Trenton, New Jersey, 17 December 1912, on Woodrow Wilson letterhead, to Ernestine L. Merritt, Wilson writes of his appreciation of such friends and his hope to not let them down, (old folds, staining, discoloration from old adhesive on reverse, remnants of previously pasted down text in l.l. corner),9 3/4 x 8 1/4 in. Provenance: 1893 and 1912 letters, John Heise Autographs, Syracuse, New York, 1939/40.
