Pair of Adrian Pearsall (1925-2011) Sting Ray Side Tables, Pennsylvania, c1960, shaped glass top set on walnut X-frame base, unmarked, ht. 19 1/2, top approx. 25 x 20 in. Note: Pearsall is considered to be one of the earliest influencers of American Modern furniture design. He graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in architectural engineering and in 1954 founded Craft Associates. Known for his daring, yet affordable designs, Pearsall is credited with creating the low gondola sofas, free form walnut and glass coffee tables, and popularizing the bean bag chair.
