Alfons Spring (German, 1843-1908) Two Genre Scenes: Two Men in Conversation in an Interior and Woman and Man by a Hearth or Forge Men signed and inscribed "A. Spring/München" l.r., Hearth signed "A. Spring" l.r., each with a Munich artist material supplier stamp on the reverse. Both oil on partially cradled panel, 13 5/8 x 19 1/2 in. (35.0 x 50.0 cm),in matching frames. Condition: Men with retouch, hairline cracks to panel, scattered paint losses, drying cracks, varnish inconsistencies and bloom, surface grime; Hearth with retouch, horizontal band of small paint losses across center, varnish inconsistencies, surface grime.
