1,250cc OHV Inline 4-Cylinder Engine Supercharged w/single SU Carburetor Est. 75bhp at 5,500rpm 4-Speed Manual Transmission Front Beam Axle with Leaf Springs - Live Rear Axle 4-Wheel Hydraulic Drum Brakes *Superb restoration performed by Jason Len less than 250 miles ago *Stunning livery in British Racing Green with Olive Green side touch and Green interior *Fitted with period-appropriate Supercharger for extra performance *Spectacular example of the classic MG TC Sportscar THE MG TC The right-hand drive TC Midget first appeared in 1946. Brought to the US in considerable numbers by GIs returning from England, the sporting little MG gained a strong following, especially in California and on the East Coast. These MGs had many endearing features, including a slab fuel tank, 19-inch diameter wire wheels, folding windshields, and octagonal dashboard instruments. Sales of these MGs excelled when a Life Magazine photographer captured one being driven underneath a big lumber carrier on a Los Angeles Street. Many soon found their way into amateur racing, and almost every one of the legendary American sports car champions of the post-war era began their careers behind the wheel of a TC. THE MOTORCAR OFFERED This charming and classic 1948 MG TC open two-seat Roadster benefits from a comprehensive restoration performed by renowned British car restorer Jason Len of XK's Unlimited fame, and less than 250 miles have been recorded since the work was completed in 2014. Len finished the MG in the appropriate British Racing Green exterior color seen on the car today, with a neatly contrasting Olive-Green touch on both sides, while the interior was trimmed in a matching green color. A period-appropriate Supercharger was fitted to the XPAG 1,250cc engine. Although, it is not the original engine for the car and an oil cooler was fitted to keep things cool. The original-type fold-down windscreen is in place with Brooklands racing windscreens in situ just behind, and a black convertible top and tonneau cover is fitted, along with twin rear-mounted spare wheels. Inside the cockpit, the wood trimmed dashboard features the stunning TC green/grey instruments, and appropriate switchgear. Everywhere you look the level of detail in Jason Len's work is apparent, with stunning chrome and brightwork, a neatly detailed engine compartment, and photos on file of the undercarriage reveal an equally well-detailed chassis and running gear. These nimble, well-handling MG sports cars are excellent for Sunday drives on twisty backroads and remain the classic MG T-Series icon which helped spark many sports car and racing drivers' interest in going fast on four wheels. With a restoration of this level and a Supercharger fitted, this example stands out and deserves serious consideration.
